How is Aurora Academy Funded?  Do you charge tuition fees?

Aurora Academy receives ‘per
pupil’ funding from the state and the district as other public
schools.  However a measurable percentage of operating funds
pays for facility needs as Charter schools do not receive
facility support.  Therefore, Aurora Academy actively seeks
opportunities to raise additional funds in order to meet the
needs of the facilities and programs of the school.  We do not
charge tuition fees.

To whom is
Aurora Academy accountable?

Aurora Academy is
accountable to the families in the school, the local school
district and the state. The district sponsors Aurora Academy
and, through a contract, has outlined certain provisions the
charter school is responsible to fulfill. Aurora Academy is also
required to participate in the state-mandated Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS and PARCC). It is through these measures that charter schools, along with all other public schools in the state, are
